The users of the social networking site Twitter faced problems while accessing the service since the afternoon of 15 October 2020, all over the world and the technical fault remained for more than two hours.
The reports for the technical issue on Twitter indicate that the problem started arising at 5:30 p.m. ET, which as a result reported more than 53,000 complaints by 5:58 p.m. The Twitter team started to sort out the issue just after 20 minutes they received complaints. (as per DownDetetctor.com)
Twitter's communication team (Twitter Comms) updated regarding the issue and posted:
“The recent issue was caused by an inadvertent change we made to our internal systems. Twitter should be working for everyone within the next few hours.”
On 16 Oct 2020 at 4:16 a.m., the Twitter Support updated its users and posted: “Twitter has been down for many of you and we're working to get it back and running for everyone.
We had some trouble with our internal systems and don't have any evidence of a security breach or hack”
The Twitter Support team appreciated the patience of its users and further added that most of their servers affected and they are working on it to bring Twitter back to normal and they expected that it may further take 1-2 hours to sort out the issue.
It was observed that after blocking users from tweeting or retweeting about Hunter Biden the Twitter became the issue of political debate. The company prevents the users from posting such stuff and further added that such posts with links are the main cause of sharing hacked material.
Moreover, this summer, Twitter faced a severe attack on high-profile accounts of different celebrities, politicians, tech titans, and different companies. According to the company, more than 130 accounts were attacked when someone tried to hack Twitter accounts on 15 July 2020.
Twitter has experienced discontinuity in the past like other social networks. The network of Twitter was down for about an hour all over the world in July 2019.
